Brahminy Kite in-flight, Goa

Brahminy Kite, a bird of prey, distinct from other kites with its white head and breast. It is usually seen flying over the water bodies, be it lakes, rivers, estuaries. It is a common bird when you look up, circling over to spot its prey and being chased by crows when in their domain.

They are known for amazing eye sight, in-flight maneuverings to catch or even snatch the prey. While resting on the tree branches they can be seen sharing the space with black kites and crows.

This image was captured while this one was scanning the Mandovi River estuary, from the heights of Reis Magos Fort, Goa thus getting a near eye level shot.
