3 abducted by dacoit Lalit Patel gang burnt alive

Three youth, abducted by dacoit Lalit Patel gang, were burnt alive in the dense forest of Chitrakoot district in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh.

Munna Yadav and Daadu Varma both residents of Satna district of Madhya Pradesh were abducted by Lalit Patel and his gang members on June 30. Their burnt bodies were found from forest in Chitrakoot on Tuesday morning.

Another burnt body was found from Kolhua village in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. The body is yet to be identified. Kolhua village is the last village on Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh border.

Police suspect that all three were kidnapped by Lalit Patel gang on the suspicion of acting as informer to rival Goppa Yadav gang operating in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh ravines. The MP and UP Police is combing the bordering forest areas to nab the dacoits.

The DIG said that empty bullets shells were recovered from the spot. "This indicates that they were shot first and then tied with a tree before being burnt," said Tiwari.
