I think I should share, what i had gone through in the last couple of days.  This is the second time i had faced this situation and both the times it was with my parents.

Before almost 15 years, it was with my father who had an epilepsy attack at 3.00 am early in the morning on the 15th of Ramadan.  I had to run around with him in my brother's car and one of my nephews to the doctor.  In a span of six hours, we had visited almost two doctors and he still didnt survive......Inallilahi Wa Innalilahi wa rajioon.

This situation came to haunt me again almost three days ago, when my mother suffered a heart attack.  And again i had to get her admitted in a cardiology clinic at around 10.00 pm on a Sunday.  Imagine, my horror of all days...... Sunday, and festival season of Dussehra. But to my luck, the cardiologist was available and he got her admitted and started treatment immediately, which was a relief.  Her pain had almost gone, but I knew what was in store, when he advised me and suggest Angiography procedure immediately.

I didnt know what to do, and since she was feeling better i got her discharged against the doctor's advise.

The reason of writing this whole big boring story, was that i contacted Mr. Imtiyaz Kondkari, who I consider a dear friend and he had suggested that i take a second opinion. Ofcourse the second doctor, a very reputed Kokani cardiologist suggested the same, but he warned me about what could happen and what the consequences would be.

Either way, when we were attending the http://www.kokanshadiya.com meeting in Dr. Kondkari's house at Nerul, he had suggested that we need some advise on how to get medical treatment and not be taken for a ride by the doctors.  We as individual, dont know what is needed in terms of medical treatment for our near and loved ones.  We go with what the Doctor tells us and sometimes it is not necessary. In the name of medical treatment we are regularly fleeced by these so called medical instiutions, practitioners etc.....

We always argue and negotiate in the market for consumer items. But we cannot argue with medical staff, We really need some expert medical advise, when it comes to expensive medical procedures. Medical guidance is a must, and i think that our community should seriously think about it.

I was happy that Dr. Imtiyaz Kondkari was there for me, when i needed him.  And I am extremely grateful for all that he did for me during that day.  I needed him, and he was there for me.

Thank you Dr. Imtiyaz Kondkari.....Thank you very much....and Please do keep up the good work
